The first app of the Iberá Wetlands

Everything you need to plan your trip to the Great Iberá Park, in one place.

What Iberá Experience is

Iberá Experience is a free digital guide to the Esteros del Iberá, the most important wildlife reserve in Argentina. It was born from the concrete need of travellers who arrive at the Iberá not knowing who to hire, where to stay or how to organise themselves in a territory with ten portals spread over 1,300,000 hectares.

The app brings together information that used to be scattered across dozens of sites, Facebook groups, word-of-mouth recommendations and outdated institutional websites. Every provider was surveyed directly: their activity, their contact details and their offer were verified. The result is a directory of more than 400 local providers, accessible without a download, from any phone with a connection.

Why the project exists

The Iberá holds a paradox. It is one of the most extraordinary ecotourism destinations in South America, with wildlife comparable to the Pantanal, Starlight skies, reintroduced species (jaguar, giant anteater, red-and-green macaw) and more than 360 bird species. Yet the practical information for planning a trip is fragmented, hard to find and frequently out of date.

The local providers are families and small entrepreneurs who have known the wetland for generations, but with little or no digital presence. The traveller ends up arriving without knowing there is an excellent guide at the portal they chose, or hiring generic services from Buenos Aires when more authentic and affordable local options exist.

Iberá Experience aims to close that gap: connecting the traveller with the local provider, and the local provider with more travellers.

How verification works

Every provider listed in the app was verified through one of the following channels: a direct visit to the portal, phone or WhatsApp contact with the provider, cross-checking with information from the municipal or provincial Tourism Office, or a review of their ratings on specialised platforms (TripAdvisor, Booking, Google Maps).

The app includes a periodic review system: an automated verifier checks that the published contact details, websites and prices are up to date. Detected changes are reported for human review before being published. If you find an incorrect piece of information, you can contact us directly from the app.

Portals covered

The app covers the ten portals of the Great Iberá Park plus Mburucuyá National Park: Laguna Iberá (Carlos Pellegrini), Carambola (Concepción del Yaguareté Corá), Cambyretá (Ituzaingó), San Antonio (Loreto), Galarza, San Nicolás (San Miguel), Uguay, Capivari, Río Corriente (Chavarría) and Mburucuyá N.P. Each portal has its own page with access information, wildlife, activities and providers. See: guide to the 10 portals.
