Classic Circuit

Laguna Iberá Portal · Carlos Pellegrini

First VisitFamilyWildlifeBoatingAstrotourismCycling Tours

The quintessential entry point to Iberá. Carlos Pellegrini, the village on the shore of Laguna Iberá, is famous for its boat trips to watch wildlife.

Dirt streets, capybaras crossing at any hour and the powerful howl of carayá monkeys at nightfall. Laguna Iberá unfolds more than 5,000 hectares of open water: gliding across it at dawn, with low mist and flocks of roseate spoonbills taking flight, is an experience that is hard to forget.

The boardwalks over the lagoon and the grasslands let you walk on the wetland: caimans rest a few meters away and otters peek out among the aquatic vegetation. At night, a flashlight outing with a guide reveals another dimension of the ecosystem.
