Its spindle-shaped body and silvery scales with dark markings make it unmistakable. Difficult to fish: it is wary and very fast. With a fly or nymph it is one of the most interesting challenges of fishing in the Iberá.
Behaviour
Omnivorous with a predominantly plant-based diet: algae, plants, seeds, and also snails and crabs. It lives in groups in waters of medium depth with some current.
How and when to see it
Spring and summer. Portals Río Corriente and Galarza. It is fished with dry fly, nymph or small spoons.
