A key species of the marsh ecosystem: it controls the populations of small fish. It tolerates very low oxygen concentration in stagnant waters. Its enormous mouth and sharp teeth make it unmistakable.
Behaviour
Solitary and territorial. It hunts by ambush from the aquatic vegetation. Active both by day and by night.
