Chamamé, music and traditional dance of the Littoral, was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2020. Born from the encounter between Guaraní culture and European immigration, it is the sonic soul of Corrientes and the Esteros.
Every January, the National Chamamé Festival brings together the genre's greatest exponents over ten nights at the Mario del Tránsito Cocomarola Amphitheatre in the city of Corrientes. It is the country's largest celebration of chamamé.
