Puerto Juli Cué sits on the Carambolita stream in the Carambola Portal, about 27 km by dirt and unpaved road from Concepción del Yaguareté Corá. It is one of the embarkation points where, for over a century, people have entered to navigate into the heart of the Esteros.
From here you can reach Paraje Carambola by water and, deeper in, settlements like Ñupy or Yahaveré, where a few families of the old marsh hunters still live among capybaras, canoes and heron rookeries. You navigate by motorboat, poling canoe or kayak, and you can also ride horses across the fords. The reopening of the Puerto Juli Cué, Yahaveré and Capivarí ports made it possible to travel for days through the islands and streams of the deepest Iberá.
