San Carlos, founded in 1631 and moved to its current location in 1638, is the best-preserved Jesuit-Guaraní reduction in Corrientes. The town still holds the mission church and a museum of Jesuit art.
Among its streets and houses you find traces of the old workshops and the ingenious water system of the reduction. It is part of the Jesuit-Guaraní Corridor that unites Corrientes, Misiones, Paraguay and Brazil.
