It looks so much like the green racer that even guides mix them up: the difference is the brownish head and the black eye line. It climbs as easily as it moves on the ground, hunting frogs, rodents and chicks.
Behaviour
Diurnal and agile, as much at home in branches as in grassland. In danger it freezes, trusting its camouflage.
How and when to see it
October to April. Along forest edges, patiently checking shrubs and low branches.
