Its long legs let it see over the tall grasslands. It feeds on fruit, small animals and insects. Its strong smell, similar to a skunk's, signals when it is nearby. Near Threatened globally (IUCN) and Vulnerable at the national level in Argentina (SAyDS-SAREM).
Behaviour
Solitary and territorial. Active mainly at night. Has a deep bark that can be heard for kilometers.

Dawn and dusk in grasslands and at woodland edges. Portals Carambola, Mburucuyá and San Antonio.
