What it lacks in size it makes up in volume: on warm nights, hundreds of males call together from the floating vegetation and the chorus carries far. Finding one singing takes a torch, patience and a sharp eye.
Behaviour
Nocturnal. It climbs grasses and rushes at the water's edge, hunting minute insects.

Warm nights from October to March. Follow the calls along the vegetated edges of lagoons and marshes.
