The postcard is so common it looks staged: a grazing capybara with a caracara standing on its back. It is not friendship but business, the bird eats ticks and parasites and the capybara receives the service without twitching an ear. It inspects cattle too, with the same confidence.
Behaviour
A complete opportunist: it walks the ground, checks large animals, eats carrion, insects and fruit. Nothing is beneath it.
