Corrientes was the first Argentine province to have free-flying macaws thanks to Rewilding Argentina. Their flight in flocks over the woodland at dawn, that fiery red against the sky, is a sight you never forget.
Behaviour
Social and very noisy. Monogamous for life. Feeds on fruit, seeds and mineral clay from riverbank cliffs to neutralize toxins.
How and when to see it
Dawn and dusk. Reintroduced at the Cambyretá (2015) and Yerbalito (2026) portals. Peak activity in spring and summer during nesting season.
